Governing Board Meeting Dates and Locations
CASA Academy Governing Board meetings will take place at the CASA Academy campus (1500 W Maryland Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85015). Per A.R.S. § 38-431.02, notice of meetings for CASA Academy and any of its committees will be posted on this website. Notices will also be posted in the front office of CASA Academy (1500 W Maryland Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85015), which is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Evan Bolick – Board Member, Chair of Governance Committee

Evan Bolick has lived in Phoenix, Arizona for five-years and lives close to CASA Academy. He is an attorney at Rose Law Group, pc, and specializes in litigation, constitutional law, education law, cyber law, online defamation and copyright and trademark work. Prior to his current employment, Evan interned or clerked for the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Goldwater Institute. Evan graduated from the University of Chapel Hill-School of Law and received degrees in history and religion from James Madison University. He is also a writer of short stories and scripts. He has a passion for education and school choice, which has only grown stronger since welcoming two children into his family.

Daniel Brown – Board Member, Board Vice-Chair

Daniel Brown, co-founder and Managing Partner of the Myriad Real Estate Group, specializes in helping people create a fantastic real estate experience. Whether working with bank-owned homes, short sales, investment properties, or traditional sales, Daniel works tirelessly to find the perfect home. As a Realtor with more than seven years of experience, Daniel works to educate his clients and ensure they get the best value in a rapidly changing housing marketing. He is an expert in analyzing neighborhoods and current market trends to establish fair property values. As an Arizona native, who currently lives in Phoenix, Daniel is extremely knowledgeable of the market and the cities in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Daniel graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Business Management in 2004 and began his career in real estate in 2007. Daniel is an avid health and nutrition enthusiast. He enjoys staying active and enjoys golf, hiking and mountain biking at South Mountain, Camelback Mountain, or in the McDowell Mountains. Since Daniel ran his first mud run in 2009, he has competed in a total of nine runs, including four years in a row in the Tough Mudder.

Crystal Chavez – Board Member

Crystal Chavez is a marketer and writer, with over 7 years’ experience in the tech industry. She graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. Throughout her career, she’s done everything from business development to content management for startups and multi-billion dollar enterprises alike. In her free time, she enjoys playing the guitar, reading, writing, traveling and keeping a close eye on the worlds of fashion and art.

Mary Dahlen – Board Member, Board Chair, Chair of Development Committee

Mary Dahlen was born and raised in Wausau, WI. She is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where she received degrees in Healthcare Administration and Healthcare Finance. Mary has worked in the healthcare arena in finance, strategic planning, business development and fundraising. She is currently a community volunteer working with a number of non-profit organizations. Mary is passionate about the mission and values that CASA Academy has developed and carries out on behalf of the scholars they educate. She feels that primary education for low-income children is critical to the success and future of our city and state. Mary is married to Dennis and has a daughter Emma, two step-daughters, Nicole and Sara, two sons-in-law Dominick and Mason as well as a grandson Alistair. In her free time Mary enjoys nothing better than reading a good book!

Madison Major – Board Member, Board Secretary

Madison Major is currently an associate attorney at the law firm of Fennemore Craig, P.C. where she focuses her practice in Business and Finance. Madison is a Teach for America alum. In 2010, she joined the corps in Memphis, Tennessee where she taught first grade and then sixth grade English. After her two years as a corps member, Madison joined Teach for America staff as a Manager of Teacher Leadership Development. In that role, she served as an instructional coach for teachers teaching Pre-K through 8th grade in the Achievement School District.

Danielle Puente – Board Member, Chair of Facilities Committee

Danielle Puente is currently a Controller and CPA at D.P. Electric, an electrical contracting company in the valley. In her current role, she specializes in preparing financial statements, cash management, overseeing financial decisions and establishing budgets. Prior to joining D.P. Electric, Danielle spent 3 years at KPMG as a senior auditor working on engagements with various Fortune 500 companies. She graduated from the University of Arizona with her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Entrepreneurship. She has always had an interest in entrepreneurship and hopes to help CASA constantly improve, innovate and grow.

Mark Tucker – Board Member, Chair of Company Culture Committee

Mark Tucker is an executive with 37 years of experience in retail management in merchandising, buying, and operations, most recently with Macy’s Department Stores in the Customer Service and Financial Operations.  His long history with Macy’s (31 years) gives him the knowledge and ability to create new ideas to support the improvement of the marketing, operations, financial health and culture of any organization.  With his retirement from Macy’s in 2016, Mark is developing his own consulting business that will focus on supporting small businesses and guide them through the changes needed for growth with all of the challenges that organizations experience.  He attended the University of Denver receiving a B.S.B.A. in Marketing and also received his MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Mark is a skier and enjoys golfing in loves golfing in his spare time. In his younger years, he was a river guide for a white-water rafting company in Colorado and enjoys the outdoors. He has been die-hard Arizona Cardinals Fan since 1988 when they moved to Phoenix. Mark and his wife, Patti, have a daughter who attends Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.  He is excited to be a part of the CASA Academy team and is looking forward to a great future for the school and the scholars.

Tia Wee – Board Member, Board Treasurer, Chair of Finance Committee

Tia Wee is an Arizona native and proud Sun Devil. She attended Arizona State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and Master of Accountancy degree. She currently works in public accounting at a big 4 firm where she specializes in providing financial statement audits and audits of internal control services. Having a young daughter of her own, she understands the importance of high-quality learning in early childhood and is very excited to bring her financial background to serve on CASA Academy’s Board and Finance Committee.
